River Runs: Guided Kayaking and Canoeing Trips in Massachusetts & Vermont
River Runs are one-day guided kayaking or canoeing trips on the Deerfield River in MA and the West River in southern VT. These kayaking and canoeing trips give advanced beginners a chance to gain experience and provide intermediate kayakers and canoeists the opportunity to paddle a new river. While these trips are not instructional clinics, they are a wonderful way to practice your kayaking and canoeing techniques under the leadership of qualified instructors.
Paddlers participating in River Runs should be able to perform eddy turns, peel outs, ferries, and unassisted self rescues. Zoar Gap river runners should feel comfortable in Class II whitewater. Upper West (Class III) river runners should be strong intermediates who are comfortable on class III water.
- Zoar Gap River Run : Novice/Class II
- Lower West River Run : Advanced Beginner/Intermediate
- Upper West River Run : Strong Intermediate
- Spring Fling in New England : Strong Intermediate
- Dryway River Run : Strong Intermediate
Our advanced river running clinics are more instructional than other river runs with a focus on the kayaking techniques that help you develop the skills and confidence to handle more difficult water.
